Key rookie cards in this set include Jeff Kent, Manny Ramirez, Matt Stairs, Tim Wakefield and Eric Young. In addition, a card of Pedro Martinez is featured. The rookie selection was hindered by Donruss' decision to add 20 players from the base set and include them in the "Phenoms" insert set. One of the 20 was Mike Piazza. Piazza's Phenoms insert is one of only three cards issued of him in 1992, and the only one NOT considered a "true" rookie.
